We are recruiting for a FTC for 12 months for a External Grants Officer for a high profile social welfare charity . In this role you will coordinate and assess funding applications for projects run by other organisations, where those projects support individuals who would be classed as beneficiaries of the charity

The role is home based and Salary 23,000 (plus 4,452 London Weighting per annum if applicable)

The Role
Undertaking assessment and compiling recommendations for funding proposals from external organisations in line with established process and policy.
Ensuring that all funded organisations comply with the charitys requirements, e.g. monitoring and evaluation reporting and appropriate PR acknowledgements
Ensuring that all External Grants activities comply with Charitable Law.
Working with applicants and prospective applicants, providing information on how to apply to the charity and identifying areas for improvement within projects.
Assisting with the development of the funding programmes, including new funding themes, application processes, and promotional materials. Stakeholder Relationship Management
Advising external organisations on the application processes, eligibility criteria, key funding criteria, and in response to general enquiries.
Working with applicants and prospective applicants to signpost to other sources of funding and highlighting opportunities
Carrying out site visits to projects funded by the charity across the UK as part of the evaluation process.
Liaising with the appropriate subject matter experts (e.g., National Lead Outreach) and Area Managers when putting forward recommendations for consideration to the Grants Panel(s). Systems Support / Development
Identifying opportunities to maximise efficiency and quality of the external grants programme, including evaluating the implications of introducing online applications

The Candidate
Demonstrable experience of providing administrative and secretarial support
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relations with volunteers, ex-Service and other charitable organisations and government agencies
Grant giving exposure
Experience in Welfare Services an advantage
Experience with IT Systems
