We are recruiting for a temporary Prospect Researcher for an international charity that focuses on Media and communication. This role provides a unique opportunity to raise the profile of, and build, the corporate income stream of the fundraising department. This role will focus on supporting prospecting strategy to grow their corporate partner portfolio and income which will involve prospect identification, research, initial outreach and follow up where required.
To play a key supporting role in maximising corporate fundraising income for the charity
Have a clear understanding of the charities work and key focus areas in order to identify suitable partnerships
Have a clear understanding of corporate fundraising techniques and Corporate Social Responsibility agendas and thinking within businesses in order to tailor asks accordingly
Focus on identifying and building a pipeline of five and six figure partnerships with companies and corporate foundations across multiple sectors
Provide proactive and reactive desk based research support on significant corporates, identifying new prospect contacts for development and outreach
Researching and mapping networks to enhance fundraising approaches
Effectively summarise company giving trends
Ensure research and information is accurately recorded on the Maximizer database
Keep key documents and logs up to date, actively reporting back on KPIs
Perform due diligence research on potential and existing supporters
To develop good relations and maintain communication channels with other teams and departments
Actively participate in regular department and team meetings, contributing to strategy discussions and decisions that will benefit the development of fundraising activities
Support the wider fundraising team with any additional ad-hoc requirements
Experience of Prospect Research preferable or general research skills
Experience of generating new business/lead generation within a charity
Focused, target-driven and highly motivated
Excellent research ability through various channels
Confident phone manner with persuasive skills and personable style
Excellent writing skills
Great networking skills and confident in using social media
A good understanding of fundraising
