This is a varied role with great scope for development at an exciting time of growth for this international development organisation. You will have the opportunity to grow the direct marketing programme, build relationships with high value donors and support existing and new community groups.
Are a UK-based international development charity that support some of the worlds most marginalised individuals and communities through adult education projects. Through practical projects, they enable long-term change by building peoples skills and knowledge, so that they can transform their own lives. The organisations international development project portfolio consists of a variety of highquality, innovative projects based in approximately 10 countries at any given time.
You will be a key member of a small but highly dedicated and talented team with primary responsibility for many of the existing relationships with individuals and community groups that support this great cause.
You will also have a particular focus on developing new relationships with high value donors and through direct marketing, guided by organisations exciting new strategy for growth.
In conjunction with the Director of fundraising and communications, agree targets associated with direct marketing, high value donors and community fundraising income and achieve these targets within the deadlines and budgets set.
Manage external suppliers to ensure the charity produce creative and engaging direct marketing appeals, lead on turning these appeals into digital resources that can be used to drive the success of the offline appeal.
Access new areas for community engagement, with a key focus on online and digital, whist maintaining and increasing support from the charities existing and committed donor base.
Develop and produce materials and campaigns, supported by the wider team, aimed at specific groups including churches, individuals and new regional groups.
You must also be an excellent and adaptable relationship-builder in diverse contexts; and enjoy managing and securing funds through direct mail as well as in person with high value donors.
You need to enjoy generating new fundraising ideas and be strongly target driven. It is essential that you are a highly efficient communicator and confident in using a wide variety of communication methods.
The successful candidate you will have knowledge / experience in
Working in a similar role or a role with a focus on direct marketing or community fundraising.
Working with volunteers or in a volunteering environment.
Knowledge of the principles of good supporter care and generating income from community sources.
