Working with the Head of Partnership & Philanthropy to achieve income from Trusts and Foundations, by conducting prospect research, developing and submitting relevant, high quality applications. Youll be responsible for writing compelling proposals and bids and ensuring an excellent standard of cultivation and stewardship with funders.

The Role
The main purpose of the role is to work with the Head of Partnership & Philanthropy to achieve a step change in income from Trusts and Foundations, by conducting prospect research, developing and submitting relevant, high quality applications. Youll be responsible for writing compelling proposals and bids and ensuring an excellent standard of cultivation and stewardship with funders. Full time, 37.5hrs, Monday to Friday, 9 to 5.30 (flexible working considered)

Take the lead in managing and growing the trust and foundations portfolio, with a particular focus on 25K plus prospects, in order to achieve growth targets.
Work closely with the Childrens Services to understand the programmes for seriously ill children and to develop a compelling case for support
Research prospective grant-making funders, matching potential donors with Starlight programmes
Create bespoke, high quality applications for funders which demonstrate a clear understanding of their requirements and the impact of our work for seriously ill children and their families
Initiate, build and manage relationships with funders with timely and relevant communications, meetings and invitations to events.
Ensure that donors receive appropriate and timely acknowledgement and recognition for their support
Co-ordinate mailings to small Trusts and Foundations

The Candidate
Managing your own budget and making successful individual trust applications to the value of at least 25k plus and a total budget in excess of 300k
Establishing and managing relationships with trusts and foundations
Developing and growing an income stream
Working with a solution focused approach to problem solving and decision-making
Delivering excellent verbal and written communications
