In this new role you will be responsible for generating income from statutory sources, trusts and foundations to support the work of this leading educational charity.
This is an independent charity dedicated to raising literacy levels in the UK by giving disadvantaged children the literacy skills they need to succeed. Their research and analysis make them a leading authority on literacy. They run projects in the poorest communities, campaign to make literacy a priority for politicians, businesses and parents, and support schools.
The successful candidate will be responsible for researching and developing approaches to statutory (local and national government) and trust funds to support the charities activities. You will be crucial in monitoring all statutory tenders throughout the UK, ensuring the Senior Fundraising Manager, senior management team and programme leads are aware of all live tenders and deadlines. You will develop new ways to present our core activities and programmes to funders, and manage the planning, monitoring and reporting processes.
Specifically, this will focus on managing the statutory application process including prospecting, drafting, managing and submitting applications as well as drafting, managing and submitting applications to trusts and foundations.
You will research, write and present funding bids, proposals and documentation and develop new and existing business through research, networking, identifying and responding to leads and working closely with colleagues across the organisation.
The successful candidate will have experience of successfully fundraising from trusts, foundations and statutory sources with track record of writing successful bids of at least 80,000 - 100,000.
You will have excellent research skills, relationship and project management with excellent written communication skills
