We're looking for two positive and passionate Senior Policy and Campaigns Officers to lead national campaigns and carry out detailed work in the health and social policy team of this well loved Health charity.
We provide advice and support to empower anybody experiencing a health problems and we campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding of this issue.
Lead the development, delivery and evaluation of specific national campaigns and policy work.
Establish effective relationships with civil servants, policy makers, decision-makers, and other campaigning bodies relevant to your policy areas.
Keep abreast of issues within your own policy areas, and developments within wider mental health and social policy. Keep up to date with campaigning techniques.
Develop policy recommendations, write policy and campaigns reports, lobby decision makers and respond to government inquiries, consultations or other initiatives.
Build positive relationships with colleagues and act as a role model for colleagues across the Policy and Campaigns team.
Involve people with health problems in all aspects of work, including input into planning and policy development, participation in research, and engagement in campaign actions and events.
With support from the Campaigns team, help to spot opportunities for fundraising from the work of the Policy and Campaigns team and strengthen the case for support.
Ensure project budgets are monitored effectively, and expenditure is reported back to funders in line with their requirements.
Significant experience in a policy and campaigning role.
Significant experience of developing and maintaining effective working relationships both internally and externally, including negotiation with organisations or individuals with differing perspectives and agendas.
Experience of giving presentations and public speaking to a range of internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to design, carry out and analyse research, and understand and analyse complex information, including research reports and legislation.
