Working as the personal assistant to a Senior Solicitor. Proactively identifying the needs for support and working on ones own initiative to anticipate ongoing and future requirements for support.
Arranging travel, accommodation and meetings. Using own judgement to determine whether the costs incurred to the charity are reasonable and represent value for money, raising any concerns with appropriate management in order to seek further direction.
Providing full legal secretarial support to five solicitors. Proactively determining the prioritisation of tasks and managing priorities and resources in order to achieve an optimal outcome for the legal department.
Deputise for the PA to the Legal Director during any absence and prioritise workloads of the secretarial team accordingly. Providing a first stage allocation of unassigned work to the appropriate lawyer using acquired knowledge of the skill sets and expertise of the lawyers concerned.
Acting as the lead trainer on legal department case management software, providing training and advice to colleagues as appropriate.
Providing the first level support to the legal department on Information Technology issues, resolving technological issues with computers, printer, scanner etc. Providing first level technical support on software issues in providing support and advice to the lawyers in ensuring they are getting the most out of software packages whether these are products of licence (Microsoft products, Outlook etc) or the in-house systems (Core-HR etc.). Referring more complicated technology issues to the IM&T.
A broad experience of providing support to senior lawyers is required, along with an ability to work co-operatively and to engender confidence in the lawyer the role holder supports.
Ability to deliver one-on-one training on matters such as the Legal Departments case management software.
Significant diary/ file management experience.
Proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point Presentations with a proven experience within the secretarial industry.
