As a successful Legacy Officer you will work within the Legacy Administration team to help enhance the charitys reputation and adding value where possible for an inspiring health charity.
Provide care and support to people with terminal illnesses and their families.
Manage a caseload including pecuniary, residuary and revisionary legacies.
Ensure that all incoming correspondence is dealt with in a timely manner (as defined by internal service level agreements)
Record and update all relevant information regarding a legacy on our Legacy Administration database, FirstClass 4.
Ensure all open legacy case files are reviewed on a regular basis and appropriate action taken to move cases through to conclusion.
Scrutinise estate accounts and ensure that an estate has been administered correctly to include the allocation of capital gains tax and inheritance tax.
Ensure legacies are allocated in restricted and unrestricted funds, in accordance with the Will.
Protect the interests of the organisation when an estate is shared between several charities and achieve minimal expenditure by ensuring that a concerted view is reached between the charities (and to take the lead when appropriate)
Excellent working knowledge of charity Legacy Administration.
High level of computer literacy (ie. Word processing, email and spreadsheets etc)
Able to prioritise planning and organise own workload.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
