You will play a key role in managing relationships with celebrity supporters and engaging them with the work of the charity, contributing to the delivery of the charity's engagement strategy and to support the charity's media, fundraising and campaigning activities.
Leading mental health charity. Working with celebrities has a direct impact on public awareness of the charity. Celebrity support plays a huge part in helping them to reach new audiences, raise awareness and raise the profile of the charitys work.
As Senior Media & Celebrity Officer, you will be part of the Media team and report to the Media and Celebrity Manager. The Media team sits within the charitys External Relations department, bringing together all the charitys campaigning, policy, communications, digital, information and legal work.
You will manage the charitys relationships with some of their key celebrity supporters, ambassadors and digital influencers. With the Media & Celebrity Manager and existing Senior Media & Celebrity Officer, you will have responsibility for nurturing these influential relationships with the aim of building up lasting and meaningful connections in order to benefit the charity.
You will be responsible for engaging celebrities with all parts of the charitys work from campaigning to fundraising appeals. You will be required to develop and deliver cross-organisational plans that best utilise the charitys high-profile supporters and contribute to the planning and delivery of media strategies that publicise their support and engage celebrities to get involved with major events.
Proven experience of working with celebrities and agents in a relevant role as well as demonstrable PR/media experience.
Proven success and demonstrable experience in developing and implementing successful and high-profile celebrity recruitment and retention.
Experience of taking the lead in responding to the media about high profile issues and some experience of handling and responding effectively to crisis media stories.
A strong understanding of the value of celebrity support and proven knowledge of diverse industries e.g. sports, theatre, TV, music, film and across England and Wales.
Strong understanding of how the media works at national, local, trade & consumer levels.
Understanding of the value of brand and the importance of maintaining our reputation and the ways celebrities can reinforce brand values.
Understanding of the value of influencers e.g. vlogger, bloggers etc.
